SimplePractice Profile
Aloha—my name is Kehaulani Dennis, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma-focused therapist from Maui, HawaiÊ»i. Growing up in a community shaped by culture, family, and connection taught me that healing is not a solo journey—it’s something we do together, in relationship, and with intention. As a Polynesian and Black woman, I carry the teachings of my elders: to show up with presence, compassion, and respect for every person’s story.
I specialize in working with couples and families, and I deeply value the courage it takes to seek support with the people you love most. I know how overwhelming it can feel when communication breaks down, when old patterns keep repeating, or when emotional distance grows between you and your partner or family. My approach honors your strengths, your history, and the cultural and generational layers shaping your relationships.

Clients often share that they appreciate my grounded energy and the way I help them feel at ease, even when discussing painful experiences. I bring my full self into the therapy room—my cultural grounding, lived experience, and understanding of family systems—to create a space where healing feels possible and relationships can begin to shift.

How I Support You
Whether you come as a couple, with your family, or alone you’ll enter a space where you can slow down, speak freely, and feel met with honesty, care, and curiosity. Together, we’ll explore what’s been weighing on you, strengthen your relationships, and build tools that support clarity, connection, and emotional well-being.

Working with me can help you:
-
Rebuild communication and trust
-
Heal and reshape family patterns
-
Understand emotional triggers and unmet needs
-
Feel more grounded in identity and belonging
-
Strengthen the connection between your mind, body, and emotions
-
Move from survival into more intentional, connected living

Modalities I Use
To support your healing, I integrate trauma-informed and holistic approaches, including:
-
IFS (Internal Family Systems)
-
ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)
-
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
-
Somatic and body-based practices
-

My Philosophy
Healing isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about coming home to yourself. I believe in walking alongside you at your pace, honoring your cultural identity, lived experiences, and capacity for growth. My hope is that our work together supports deeper connection—to yourself, your partner, your family, and your life.
