Furthermore, she is an Advanced Substance Use Disorder Counselor (ASUDC), and has completed the 40 hour training for Sexual Assault Counselors from the Rape Recovery Center (RRC), in Utah, U.S.A.

One of Martha Lilia's most impactful clinical mentors taught her that

"Therapy is not to feel happy, therapy is to learn how to feel."

Martha Lilia is Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) trained and is a Sensorimotor Psychotherapist. Her training is primarily focused on developing self-compassion and self-awareness, and promoting self-understanding, love and acceptance through cognitive, somatic and experiential humanistic approaches, mindfulness techniques, trauma specific treatment modalities, and mind-soul-body connection.

Martha Lilia believes that her job is not to tell you how to live your life and/or what to do to “fix” whatever you think your problems are, but her job is to be there, unconditionally, to serve as a companion through the rediscovery and redefinition of your values, life, and yourself. She does this by providing a space of unconditional kindness, respect, acceptance and compassion that allows you and her to identify, access, explore, grieve, accept, and heal from experiences you have lived.

Her techniques are likely to include dialogue, interpretations, here-and-now observations, cognitive re-framing, somatic work and movement, dual awareness and mindfulness exercises, noticing body sensation/reactivity, mind-soul-body connection, providing feedback, visualization, journaling, self-care, exploration of bio-psycho-emotional-social-spiritual factors, and readings, videos, or assignments outside of session. In addition, she incorporates evidence-based practices and modalities to promote and nurture healing and the therapeutic relationship.

Martha Lilia Soto Ceballos is a multilingual trauma therapist, born and raised in Mexico. She received her Master's in Social Work and an Advanced Substance Used Disorder Counselor Certification from the University of Utah.

Martha Lilia is the owner, founder, CEO, clinical director, and multilingual trauma therapist at Inclusive Minded Counseling & Consulting, LLC (IMCC) and field practicum instructor at the College of Social Work (CSW) at the University of Utah. She currently sees adult clients (18 years old and up) for therapy in Spanish & English, and does presentations and consultations (Spanish & English) in her communities about trauma informed care and cultural/ethnic inclusion.

Additionally, she is the founder of Viviendo Mejor con Martha which is a YouTube Channel that offers free trauma informed education and tools for healing in Spanish. This YouTube channel is solely dedicated to Spanish speaking communities and trauma survivors.

Martha Lilia is a very passionate advocate for equality and justice for ALL and it is important for her to volunteer and give back to her communities. Therefore, she is an active member at committees that work towards integration and equality in mental health services for all Utahns and also collaborates with non-profits that support sexual assault survivors.

Last but never least, Martha Lilia is a mother of two amazing children, dog lover, and a fanatic of dancing and traveling. She enjoys spending time with her loved ones, connecting with her environment, and listening to music. She appreciates having time by herself while also enjoying the companionship of others, a good book, audiobook, movie, TV series, or YouTube video.
