Feminist Multicultural Therapy (FMT)

What is Feminist Multicultural Therapy (FMT)?

Feminist Multicultural Therapy (FMT) is a social justice–oriented approach that honors each person’s unique cultural identity and lived experience. FMT recognizes that personal struggles often occur within larger systems of power, privilege, and oppression. Rather than viewing challenges as only individual issues, it explores how social, cultural, and historical factors influence emotional wellbeing.

This therapy values collaboration, empowerment, and authenticity—helping clients reclaim their voice, build self-worth, and strengthen resilience.

FMT centers equity, inclusion, and awareness of intersectionality in every part of the healing process.
